A collage memoir is a literary assemblage or mosaic. We’ll look at how authors like Kevin Sampsell, Joan Fiset, and Theresa Mailhot blend poetic forms with mini-vignettes, letters, and philosophy–and how you can use their techniques and find your own.
Take home a well-stocked reading list and ways to continue building on your work independently. There will be time for questions.

SARAH CANNON is the author of The Shame of Losing (Red Hen Press, 2018), which was a finalist for the Washington State Book Awards in 2019. She has facilitated creative writing workshops at Edmonds Community College (WA), Hugo House in Seattle, and online with Creative Nonfiction Magazine. She earned her MFA from Goddard College, where she later helped launch the Lighthouse Writers’ Conference and Retreat in Port Townsend, WA. Her creative non-fiction appears in the New York Times, Salon.com, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Brainline.org, Bitch Magazine, and elsewhere. She is a copyeditor, digital marketing professional, and writing consultant.
