Collage Memoir: Arranging The Ephemera

August 9, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT

Virtual Event Virtual Event

    $25.00

Learn to find and tie together the theme in your vignettes, letters, diary entries and more, to create meaning, continuity and flow.

Maybe you have thematic pieces you’re ready to string together, or maybe you enjoy a variety of styles and can’t land on one. Maybe you’re noticing your shorter work has a pattern of theme or topic or voice. Enter the collage memoir.

A collage memoir is a literary assemblage or mosaic. We’ll look at how authors like Kevin Sampsell, Joan Fiset, and Theresa Mailhot blend poetic forms with mini-vignettes, letters, and philosophy–and how you can use their techniques and find your own.

Take home a well-stocked reading list and ways to continue building on your work independently. There will be time for questions.

In this webinar, you will:

  • UNDERSTAND collage memoir & see examples of published, powerful books
  • EXPERIENCE the pleasure of reading and writing non-traditional memoir
  • EXPLORE how different forms can aid in illustrating personal reflections, making refreshingly personal and unique results

This webinar is for

  • Writers with a personal theme to explore
  • Writers curious about collage memoir
  • Writers interested in nontraditional modes of storytelling
  • Anyone who enjoys creating in different forms
